This treatment is used for local treatment of chronic pulmonary diseases. In most cases, inhalation of aerosols (medicinal salt-water, medicine) is anti-inflammatory, expectorant and in some cases relaxing. The inhaled material is absorbed quickly, works locally, is highly concentrated on the site of the disease and there are fewer side effects than other medicines.
The treatment utilizes Salvus water. Its fi eld of application includes bronchitis, sinus diseases and certain asthmatic complaints.
